A delivery crew did not pick each other. A coded yacht still has to show rest. The skipper still has to leave a pack at the other end. That is a different job from a family crossing, and a different job from a fleet compliance suite.
The delivery job
Short notice, mixed experience, a boat you may not know, and a client who will ask what happened. You need a watch rota tonight, alarms that work with no signal, and a record that was not filled in on the quay. That is closer to our own use than a monthly timesheet.

Crew who did not choose each other
Pairing constraints, the person who must not be alone at night, the one who will not install an app: write them into the rota before you leave. Staggered pairs exists for mixed experience. Four on four off with dogs exists for four professionals who already know the pattern.
Standing orders have to be numbers, not “call if you’re worried”, because this crew has no shared history. The template is the brief.
Rest hours you will be asked for
Paid delivery crew and coded yachts are where MLC and STCW stop being theoretical. The record has to come from the watches you stood, including call-outs. The hours of rest app is that export. The rules are the explainer. Do not backfill a grid that four on four off already fails.
The handover pack
The client, the next skipper, or the coding surveyor wants the passage log, the rest-hours sheets, and who was actually on deck. DeckVakt writes those from the board, on the phones. Do delivery skippers need hours of rest records?
Often yes in practice, even when the pleasure-vessel rule looks soft. Confirm your flag and the client. A true record from the rota is stronger than a tidy one from memory.
Is DeckVakt a Watchkeeper alternative for deliveries?
For the passage, yes. For a company that must show fleet compliance to an office, no. Different job.
Can crew join without accounts?
Yes. Code, name, phone. Printable cards if someone refuses the app.
Does it work with no signal on a delivery?
